It’s that time of year again!
The Nikki Ross Memorial Umpire School (NRMUS) is pleased to be hosting it’s annual advanced Umpire Clinic sanctioned by Baseball Ontario. Now in new intensive weekend format (since 2022)! We extend this invitation to Umpires from all associations! We are continuing the tradition of the late Nikki Ross, great advocate of the baseball community (previously called True North Umpires Academy under her leadership). Space is limited so register early to ensure your spot!
The intensive umpire training will include; contemporary techniques, procedures, mechanics and rule interpretations. Umpires will be gaining OBA Level 1 and 2 Certification through this course (on-field and in-class components) with additional advanced components including game management, 3 umpire mechanics as well as advanced rules and interpretations. Baseball Canada Certified Course Conductors, will assist participants through all material (both levels) and on-field training.
The three-part course consists of: classroom work, involving rules & rule interpretations and a strong focus of on-field mechanics, drills & positioning work. Students will receive approximately 20 hours of instruction over the weekend (3.5 hours on Friday, 8 hours on each of Saturday and Sunday).
We offer an educational and enjoyable clinic! Please encourage other umpires to attend – register now! All materials provided. Gift bags are distributed. Prizes, give-aways and certificates will be given to participants!
Location: Lynn-Rose School - College Campus, 7310 Rapistan Court, Mississauga, ON, L5N 6L8 (North of 401, off Meadowvale Road)
Dates: Course runs Friday, April 24 to Sunday, April 26, 2026
Time: Friday 6:30pm sharp-10:00pm and 8:30am-4:30pm on each of
Saturday and Sunday (NEW Format!)
(Be early so classes can start on time and arrive early to sign in)
Cost: $215 payable by Cash, Cheque or eTransfer all due at sign in on April 24, 2026 (includes Pizza Lunch on both Saturday and Sunday and healthy snacks and water all weekend) (carding is paid by participants directly ($30 L1 and $50 L2) at time of sign up on new OBA system)
